| Bio: | TV scriptwriter and author who began his career in the 1960s penning episodes of The Avengers and Crossroads. He started his long association with Doctor Who in 1968 when he was hired as assistant script editor to the programme, before being promoted to full script editor the following year, and remaining in that role until the end of Jon Pertwee’s run as the Doctor in 1974. Afterwards he wrote several more Doctor Who episodes over the years (most notably The Five Doctors in 1983) and also became a prolific author of the Target novelisations, writing more than sixty of them over a 16-year period, as well as pursuing a separate career as a successful children’s author. |
