| Bio: | Surrey-born actress, who originally trained as a dancer before switching to acting, studying at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Her first notable TV role was a guest appearance in two episodes of the 1971 drama Room At the Top. At roughly the same time, she was cast as Jo Grant, companion to Jon Pertwee’s Doctor, whom she played for 77 episodes over a 2½ year period. Like many companions, she has remained in touch with the world of Doctor Who after leaving the show, most notably reprising the role of Jo in a 2010 episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures and also originating the role of Iris Wildthyme, an eccentric Time Lady who first appeared in the 2002 audio Excelis Dawns and whose popularity has seen the character reappear in multiple spin-off books and audio dramas. | Links: |
