Bit small, but overall a bril read. Of course, i finished it withn an hour, but i enjoyed it all the same. Everyone who reads this, type in the GOOGLE toolbar DOCTOR WHO COMIC MAKER, click the top option on the menu, go to SEARCH COMICS, type down in the USERNAME SEARCH my username: Saxon4, and read CAPTAIN JACK IN WASTE NOT, WANT NOT and any other captain jacks stories. Enjoy! Now, back to the book. Kate Yates is an amusing character who just seems really unlucky and the "Dalek Factor" is just wierd. Thank u 4 ur time!

Totally original and action packed right till the end. There are some brilliant twists to the story and the Quevvils and Mantodeans rock. Still a 7 rating! Oh Hatman, what do you mean by "THE CAT isn't in it"? What cat???????????????????????????? (NOTE: I'm the biggest Doctor who fan on Earth!)

you will love it, or hate it

I was hoping that reading this book a 2nd time would make me like it more than i did the first time, but i was was wrong. Although his writing for the Doctor and Ace was a lot beter than i remembered.
This book (and Paul Cornell's work in general) is eather you like it or you hate it. The first time i didn't like the book cause the plot was terrile, but this time i didn't like it for a diffrent reason. This book had a lot of potental but fell very short of what i hoped for.
The charecter i hated the most was Jan. He was a idiot, I couldn't see what Ace saw in him. Most of the charecters where badly writen and i just didn't care about any of them by page 40. The Travellers were bland and seem never to come alive - sad, they had potential.
The worst part for me was the chapter (15 i think) where Ace is in the lifepod and is crashing back to the planet. it was 5 pages of dribble which put me asleep everytime i started reading it.
Maybe its just his novel wrighting cause i have loved everything he has done for TV Dr Who so far, i just can't read his stuff. prehaps i'll go and read Human Nature and restor my faith in him.
3 out of 10.

Like the last dodo, the word i am using to describe this is interesting! The house is a killer and the description of the voracious craw was brilliant. (Reccomended)

I don't know what the author was thinking when he came up with the idea of space pirates with badger faces, but i think its genius. Requesting permission to use the idea sir!

What was the author thinking. A genie just isn't something you put in Doctor Who. It's just a bit boring.

Definitely worth reading. It could have been a bit more original (it was very treasure island) but overall a good read. Action packed and i loved Drel McCavity and his psycopathic satate of mind.

It has a few very odd things happen in it. I was confused at the beginning by what the otters had to do with everything and why the monster keptt saying "you will be me." But by the end I understood perfectly.

What:The Power of the Daleks (Target novelisations)
By:C G Harwood, Dunedin, NZ, New Zealand
Date:Wednesday 19 December 2007
Rating:   8

when i first got it it was use to reading 120-140pg target novels. SO to get one that was 250+ was a bit intimadating, and for that reason i did, enjoy it as much. Now that i have matured and have read books that are a lot bigger the time was right to read this one again. Having never seen this when it was broardcast I had no idea what to expect.
John peel should be comended here, he has taken the scripts (in an interview i think he was also friends with Terry Nation, so that would of helped) and turn it into a very good read. his discription of the setting and the charecters are brilliant and he has realy gone out of his way to deliver a book that will excite and grip a reader. Even if you are not a huge fan of the series i think anybody can enjoy it. The best bit for me was when the Doctor is panicing about these few Daleks, and everbody else is wondering what he's worried about (when will they listen to him?).
The only problem i had with it was that i felt that the author wafled on in a few places, and hurryed in a couple of other places. At times i feel asleep in palces. But I completly disagree with Theo this book was better the 2nd time i read it but thats just my opinion.
Diffantly read this book, and check it out for yourself. I found it a bit better if you read the Tenth Planet first - then you know why the doctor regenerated and dont have to worry about the back story that Peel mentions at the start.

Nothing original but good

What:Valhalla (Big Finish: The Monthly Adventures)
By:writingbluebear, Jersey

Yet again nothing new in terms of plot, a society living on top of another, you just know whats coming. Developing the Doctors emotions of coming to the end of something being alone was well done and helped keep this typical plot interesting.

There is good in everyone

Surprising and enjoyable. For once over the last few years this story had an original idea, a bad guy redeemed by love. Good pace and use of sound created a solid package.

Having Daleks isn't always enough

What:Renaissance of the Daleks (Big Finish: The Monthly Adventures)
By:writingbluebear, Jersey
Date:Monday 17 December 2007
Rating:   7

This was a mix of old plots, soliders from other times, exiles in alternative universes, tardis in a white void, alternative earths. It through in a lot of traditional flavours and almost pulled it off, even with a little sillyness "toy daleks" good fun. But it lacked something at the end. The real issue is the Daleks, they have been destroyed and come back so many times it's had to believe future stories, even it they are good
