Sorry jaquline Rayner because I've now read ur other dr who books and they r rerall good but this is just weak.
I like the idea of a dangerous comptour game and the idea of the hedgehog aliens.
This was the first dr who book i ever read and i had it on holidays. i had plenty of time to read it by the pool but frankly, i'd rather have a nap and only manages to read 2 chapters in the whole two-week holiday.
When i got home and started to read it more and as it progessed it did get better but your'e lucky it didn't put me off the other books. but it didn't, so it can't have been that bad.
i loved the humour in it and the Tyler family.
All in all, good effort but still weak.

a very good start to the BBC Doctor who books range.
Was quite exiting but it could get boring at times.
But made me want to read more anyway which means it can't be that bad.
All in all. good start.

Well I must say that I loved The Curse Of Peladon, dripping in atmosphere and tension. The sets were also very realistic. Then came for me an even better sequel, dont know what some people think about the Monster of Peladon, saying its a rehash and nothing more. I loved this story twice as much as Curse. And now we have an audio adventure which builds on the success of these first two television stories.
Peter Davison leads a brilliant cast in a multilayered gem that never seems to pause for breath. I was sad that this is to be Caroline Morris's last story. She was a great companion! But the story itself is a fitting ultimate adventure for her. This story also had a totally different enemy, i didnt guess at all....well, actually, its good when a script is written to keep you guessing as you can try to figure out who the voice really is before the end of episode three, and i was actually thinking of osirans, but was sure id be wrong, but i wasnt...anyway, this story has all the other major elements to make a decent peladon sequel, Alpha Centauri, Arcturus, and an Ice Lord, or prince. This story has many twists and turns and is a real classy tale! Cant say much more about this great stpory apart from the fact that I wish it could be adapted for tv, along with the baby aggedors too! You have to get this story, its fantastic!

I found this book far from the roll around on the floor laughing page turner that people assured me it was. I found it amusing but far from funny. The start was amusing. There was some nice banter between Jack, Rose and the Doctor.
The book suffers again from what to do with Jack. It seems to be a common problem. The authors solution was to have Jack keep notes, these notes while amusing have nothing to do with the story really. Both Jack and Das become pointless to the story after the Doctor heads to the past. It disjoints the flow with these pointless additions.
Many of the characters are two dimensional and the major villain was extremely weak. She lacked charisma and menace. There were no surprises, she was obviously the villain right from the start. Her Frankenstein creations were nothing new.
While it was an ok read with some witty banter here and there it really did fall way short of the mark. Garth Roberts is a talented writer and he can do much better than this.

I was thinking that Charley's final story with the Eighth Doctor would a great one. Once again, my hopes were dashed.
While we do get a good cast and fine acting here, as well as fine production, we also have another script that frequently and abruptly jumps back and forth across different time zones - back and forth among three this time. This makes for a story that's a bit confusing to start out with. Added to this, we get more rubbish technobable - this time it's "temporal corrosion." This temporal corrosion seems to flare up only when it helps move the script along, and is fairly inexplicable. Does it really damage things or not? Why does it trigger the TARDIS's HADS system, yet it doesn't kill humans? How do humans become carriers of temporal corrosion without being corroded themselves? (I feel like I'm Peter Jones, doing an episode closer for The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy here...)
As to the Cybermen, they're okay, but very much an anticlimax here, after Human Resources. Almost an afterthought. And I feel that Byron, who starts out being a very intriguing character, ends up being wasted as the character slips into insignificance through the rest of the story.
What saved this story for me and adds points to the rating is its crazy-twist out-of-nowhere ending, which elicited a Tenth Doctor-like "WHAT??!" out of me. I'll say no more about that.
Overall, The Girl Who Never Was is a somewhat sad, somewhat dissatisfying ending for a character who was for me, a quite significant, well-liked, and long-running presence in the Eighth Doctor audios. I just feel that Charley deserved a much better sendoff, and it seems like this story could've been done so much better.

OMFG definitely the best 9th dr book ever written. The Slitheen and Blathereen were brilliant and the prison planets ruled. Anyone who doesn't like this wants lockin' up (pun intended)

This book (probably) won't tell you anything you don't know, but none the less it is a wonderful book. Some beautiful photos. Hours of fun for every Dr Who fan.

The third Doctor, A first sighting of Sarah Jane, A first sighting of the Sontarons, The first mention of Gallifray. Just magic. A tip, watch it with the new CGI effects option. It improves the viewing so much, espically the explosion at the end. Highly recommended.

A fantastic Box Set
He felt like a 5th wheel in this story. There wasn't room for a character that needs to dominate like he does. At times it felt like things were created because they suddenly thought "whats jack doing now?" This felt jumpy and hurried. I liked the characters, I liked the setting, I didn't mind the idea but as much as I hate to say it I think it would have been better without Jack.
This book isn't bad. I just don't like the Slitheen. Its not the fart jokes, its just...I don't dig them and I hated having a two parter with them in Season 1.
It was an ok read but again I feel they can do better.

You don't even have to think hard to see how obviously a plot rip this is from Last Starfighter. I guess she thought we all forgot about that movie. This book is as unoriginal and as uninteresting as they come.
ripped plot, laughable aliens and a local bully whose played out as a major villain. Give me a break. This book is Coronation Street at its worst.

This was a good first outing. However many of the characters just didn't feel fleshed out to me. There was more to learn and the opportunity just never seemed to come around. I enjoyed it, it was fun but they could do better.
The painted lady and the clockwise men were highlights for me, but again both just were not used as well as they might have been.

This book is absolutly fantastic! It's excellent! Justin Richards is an absolute genius. He so descriptive. You think you kow exactly was going happen then it's the exact opposite. I loved it! Another Doctor Who book I couldn't put down. I was brillient!
The charactors made this book. I mean the book wouldn't be nealy what it is if Freddie wasn't in it. He's so brave, braver than my ten year old bother anyway. Feddie was as much the hero of the story as the Doctor. The painted lady, Repple and Wyse suprised me so much all of then turnned out to be the exact opposite of what I thought.
Rose still hasn't lost her touch. She was the hero just as much as the Doctor. As for the Doctor, he is just unexplainable in this novel.
This book is nostop action throughout the entire book. It is excellent! Comes very, extremly, highly recomended from me.

I found that this book was exellent. This was another Doctor Who book that I just couldn't put down. I absolutly loved the fact that Rose gose out on her own and, I should stop there so that I don't ruin the book. I absolutly loved it.
