Iris Wildthyme audio dramas

The eccentric Time Lady character known as Iris Wildthyme was created by English author Paul Magrs. She actually made her début outside the Doctor Who universe, in Magrs’s 1995 novel Marked for Life. She then began to pop up in the author’s Doctor Who fiction, starting with the short story Old Flame (from the 1998 anthology Short Trips), followed swiftly by the full-length novel The Scarlet Empress and appearances in Magrs’s other Who novels in subsequent years: The Blue Angel, Verdigris and Mad Dogs and Englishmen.

Iris made the leap to audio in 2002, played by Katy Manning in the Big Finish audio drama Excelis Dawns. Since then, the character’s popularity has seen her branch out into her own range of spin-off audio dramas (listed on this page) as well as short story collections and novels.

Note: Other than Excelis Dawns, Iris has also made appearances in the Big Finish audios The Plague Herds of Excelis, The Wormery and Find and Replace (all 4 of these audios belong to other ranges, so are not listed on this page).
