 | Not another haunted house |

What is it with this doctor and houses, that aside it was a good story and created a dark cold atmosphere you could sink into. The doctors solution was a little to easy but over all enjoyable.

 | Light hearted romp - almost |
|
 | | |
This one tried to be something, and generally give the impression of a romp. Mostly enjoyable with some great names for the locals but it lacked something to bring it together with any real meaning.
This was my first Virgin novel, and my first Doctor Who novel to date actually, and I wasn't dissapointed.
I've always HATED cross-overs, but this one, believe it or not, really works well. Its well written, the characters sound exactly as they should, and the plot is very interesting.
A ripping good yarn!

Why do lots of people seem to hate this story? (i'm asking for it now!)
I am indeed very biased as this is my Doctor but for me just the Doctor's performance on this one merits a top vote...
The poorest of season 26 maybe, but season 26 was a cracker so top marks.

This is the last story of the classic series. With that in mind the end of this story is a pure tear jerker (i was 9 when this story was on telly- but still shed a tear now!)
I think the doctor's last lines sum up what DW has been throughout it's long history.
Just imagine what season 27 could have ben like...
We love you Mcoy and Aldred!
A light, easily digestible read. The Doctor and Rose are written true to their television characters, and there is some nice Dalek action. There is a "recycled-seen-it-all-before" type of feel but this can be ignored if you're prepared to simply enjoy the story.
The well-written supporting characters make up for the absence of the Doctor and his companions. But the ending seems a bit rushed and the aliens are introduced to late into the story, so we don't really learn much about them.
The Doctor's relationship with Miranda is written perfectly, making for some excellent father-daughter scenes. Unfortunately, the plot tails off towards the end, and finishes with a cliched and predictable finale.
An entertaining, if rather confusing book. I agree with Hatman below, the plot does seem a bit disjointed. However, the character of Ace comes out better in print rather than screen, and the continuing story of the Doctor finding Ace's corpse is rounded off nicely.

As i said this is my first audio story to listen too and i loved it i thought colin baker was a great doctor and i know now that if he hadnt gotten sacked he would have been a great doctor and bonnie langford as Mel was surprisingly good and she didnt even scream once! but the story and the pace was good and i loved it and gave me a much bigger interst in big finish audio storys.Oh and i also wanted to say that it would have been better if we understood more about what those aliens were who overshadow the entire city of Generios and threaten the doctor about getting the 3 "tributes" but still i really enjoyed and i look forward to listening to more big finish audio storys!
One of the only few reasonably decent Colin Baker stories - but even then it's not faultless.
The violence and death that litter this story is graphic and more than not, is unnecassary. Still, the character of Sil is a good one, and Colin Baker's Doctor begins to become a bit more likeable, despite him leaving Peri to suffer without even seeming to care - again.

 | Doctor Who begins to die...again |
|
 | | |
Colin Baker's opening story is, to be frank - a mess. The acting quality is mostly terrible, the monsters look laughable, and who decided to have the new Doctor mentally unstable? Okay, it would have been fine if the unstability of the Doctor had been done tastefully and seriously, but in THE TWIN DILEMMA it just looks dreadful. Worst of all, underneath this tangled landfill site of a plot, is Colin Baker doing some pretty decent acting.

 | Disappointing Return of the Cybermen |
|
 | | |
A very average and lazily plotted story. The Cybermen are portrayed as the Doctor puts it as "a bunch of tin soldiers skulking around the universe in an ancient spaceship", and their voices are terrible. Very disappointing considering how long they had been away from Doctor Who - surely the writers could have thought of something better. Oh, and that Cybermat leaping towards Sarah, I mean honestly...

mostly good, not many bad points. bits at the beginning are bad, but the rest round it up to average. maybe The empire of hats will be better.

Absolutley none of this makes sense. Good Russian characters, but the rest were as flat as a cardboard cut-out. Avoid at most costs.

Probably the most random book in the series. It was ok, though, and the appearence of the snakes was well written. Bit silly near the end, however it was overall a good book.

The weakest Doctor Who book I have read. It may be unpredictable, but a story that doesn't make sense cripples the book's quality [and value]
