P.R.O.B.E videos

The 1994 spinoff drama The Zero Imperative featured a the activities of a Torchwood-esque agency called the Preternatural Research Bureau (“P.R.O.B.E” for short). More than most spin-off dramas, it had a particularly strong Doctor Who connection, as it included no less than three former Doctors in starring roles (Jon Pertwee, Colin Baker & Sylvester McCoy), but also notably Caroline John who was explicitly reprising her role as companion Liz Shaw from the Pertwee era of Doctor Who.

Three further dramas featuring Liz Shaw and P.R.O.B.E were released on VHS between 1995 and 1998. The full series of 4 was then reissued on DVD in 2012. A fifth drama, When to Die, came out in 2015, though by this stage Caroline John was sadly no longer with us, so the role of Liz Shaw was recast.
