AD 3000. The Earth is locked in a second Ice Age. With the landscape frozen solid, the Doctor and his companions from the TARDIS seek refuge at a science station where an ionizer battles the big freeze. But after a perfectly preserved body is found embedded in the ice, the battle against the cold turns into a war of the worlds. For the frozen being is Varga, leader of the Martian Ice Warriors, who came to Earth during its prehistoric Ice Age.
