This UK-exclusive release was the first available Blu-ray for The Sarah Jane Adventures. (Despite Series 3 also being filmed in HD, it was released on DVD only.)
Like the UK DVD edition, this also contains The Pyramids of Mars as an extra, marking the first time a classic Doctor Who story was released on Blu-ray — albeit in standard definition, since like nearly all classic series stories, Pyramids was mostly shot on video rather than film, and hence is not capable of being released in high definition. (Fans had to wait until 2013 for a “proper” HD classic series release on Blu-ray, namely Spearhead From Space.)
