Note: Includes the 75-minute colourised “movie version” broadcast on the BBC for the programme’s 60th anniversary in November 2023, and also the full original 7-episode black-and-white version.
Surprisingly this is the first standalone UK DVD release for this classic story, as it had only been previously available as part of the collections The Beginning and The Monster Collection: The Daleks.
The music soundtrack for this new version was created by Mark Ayres, partially utilising elements of the original score by Tristram Cary — this new soundtrack was later released on CD in 2024.
Later followed by the similar The War Games in Colour.
