th
DOCTOR WHO!

Percy James Patrick Kent-Smith AKA Sylvester McCoy, first gained prominence as an active comedian, performing impressive theatrical stunts. Having established a solid acting career, he went on to play the seventh incarnation of the Doctor in long-running sci-fi TV series DOCTOR WHO from 1987 to 1989 — the final lead actor of the original ‘Classic Series - briefly returning to pass the torch in the 1996 movie, documented in the video-diary film BIDDING ADIEU. Since then he has also portrayed key fantasy roles such as Radagast in The Hobbit series, and Igor in The Munsters (2022), the prequel film by Rob Zombie.

No stranger to BBV, ‘Sylv’ portrayed Anthony Stanwick in THE AIRZONE SOLUTION (1993), dark Dr. Colin Dove in PROBE: THE ZERO IMPERATIVE (1994) and ‘The Foot Doctor’ in parody DO YOU HAVE A LICENSE TO SAVE THIS PLANET? (2001). McCoy also voiced ‘The Professor’ in the pioneering audio-drama REPUBLICA (1998) by Mark Gatiss, starring alongside Sophie Aldred (who had played acclaimed DOCTOR WHO companion Ace). This lead [sic] to a series of episodes which helped spark careers of talented creatives such as writer Robert Shearman.

Interviewed numerous times both on-set during productions, and for documentaries such as THE DOCTORS: 30 YEARS OF TIME TRAVEL & BEYOND; this special UNCUT! release collects many full and unedited interviews put together for the first time, providing insights into his iconic roles, and highlighting his eccentric but warm sense of humour.

Includes NEW Introduction by Bill Baggs.
