| Bio: | London-born actor, who started his TV career as the first actor to play Robin Hood on television (in a 1953 BBC mini-series) but achieved international fame by assuming the title role in Doctor Who in 1966 from William Hartnell, necessitated by the latter's ill-health. Remained as the Second Doctor until 1969, thereafter continuing his career with notable movie roles in The Omen, Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger, and on TV with The Six Wives of Henry VIII, The Box of Delights plus no less than three return appearances on Doctor Who. Famously passed away of a heart attack while attending a sci-fi convention in the US. | Links: |
