Deborah Watling
Born:2 January 1948
Died:21 July 2017 (age 69)
Bio:Born in Essex, Deborah Watling began her career as a child actress, co-starring at age 9 in the late 1950s ITV series The Invisible Man. Her big break came in 1965 when she graced the cover of the Radio Times as the star of Dennis Potter's TV play Alice (she played Alice Liddell, who was the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland). Shortly after this, she was cast in Doctor Who as Victoria Waterfield, companion to the Second Doctor, a role she played in 40 episodes between 1967 and 1968. After leaving Doctor Who, she landed a recurring role in the World War II TV drama Danger UXB, as well as film roles alongside Cliff Richard in Take Me High and alongside David Essex & Ringo Starr in That'll Be the Day. She also worked extensively in theatre up to the early 2000s.
