| Bio: | Born in Liverpool, Elisabeth's acting career began in the early 70s with appearances in Coronation Street, Doomwatch and Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, before landing the role of feisty journalist Sarah Jane Smith, one of the longest-running and best-loved of the Doctor's travelling companions. Upon leaving Doctor Who after 3 years in 1976, she juggled her role as a mother with acting roles on Dempsey and Makepeace, The Bill and Peak Practice among others. She also kept a strong Doctor Who connection, reprising the role of Sarah Jane Smith several times over the years before being given her own spin-off series, The Sarah Jane Adventures, which was on the air from 2007 until her untimely death in 2011. | Links: |
