| Bio: | English actor, born and raised in Northampton. Initially aspired to become a professional footballer, but a back injury at age 16 put paid to his sporting career, and he turned his focus to acting instead. His first TV appearances were opposite Billie Piper in the BBC adaptations of Phillip Pullman's The Ruby in the Smoke and The Shadow in the North. He followed this in early 2007 with a lead role in BBC political drama Party Animals before surprising many by being cast as the Doctor at the tender age of 26 (to date, the youngest actor to assume the role). | Links: |
