Note:This book was scheduled to be published as a BBC Past Doctor novel in early 2000, but was cancelled by BBC Books due to a behind-the-scenes dispute. Subsequently, it was published independently by the author to benefit the Bristol Area Down Syndrome Association. The novel is also currently available as a free downloadable e-book at the New Zealand Doctor Who Fan Club website.

Cover blurb:
'The universe is dead!
Time and space, murdered!
Stars and moons, planets, comets, put to the sword!
Physics and chemistry, mathematics, geography, sent to the stake!
Mother and father, friend and stranger, snug bound in entropy's coffin!
Love, dead! fear, dead!
Dogs and birds and cats and ants and books and pies and cars and lies, all dead and gone to less than dreams these long ten years!
Everyone that ever lived,
every thought that ever held meaning,
every flower that ever cupped dew
and every equation that ever brushed a portrait of truth—'

Somewhere inside Ian's mind a page turned.

'All that we have is in here—' he stamped the ground with a child's foot, '—now—' he waved with a child's windmill arm at the universe the Ship had built for us to live out our lives in.

'There's nothing else worth remembering anymore.'

Featuring the First Doctor, Ian, Barbara and Susan, this adventure takes place between the television stories The Reign of Terror and Planet of Giants.

Cover blurb:
'Forget? Well, why not? It's not like there's anything to remember, is there?' He jerked, clockwork grief, broken. Without voice, his body screamed: The universe is dead! Hooves struck the ground: summer storm piling close as clouds.

Somewhere inside Ian's mind a page turned.

'All that we have is in here—' he stamped the ground with a child's foot, '—now—' he waved with a child's windmill arm at the universe the TARDIS had built for us to live out our lives in. 'There's nothing else worth remembering anymore.'

Note:  Print-on-demand book. Referred to by the author as "version 2.1" or the "second-and-a-half edition", this is essentially the same as the previous hardback edition above, with the addition of some extra behind-the-scenes correspondence as "bonus material". The book was taken down from Lulu.com in October 2013 due to Random House (i.e. parent company of BBC Books) serving a copyright takedown notice.

Cover blurb:
"I bought the first (edition of Campaign) off eBay for a ludicrous sum of money — and the moment I began reading it I realized whatever I spent had actually been a bargain.

"To say it's the most beautifully written Doctor Who novel ever is an understatement.

"It's so lush and rich that I try to foist it upon my friends who've never watched the series to show them the amazing possibilities unique to Doctor Who."

Timothy Eubanks
