Much to the chagrin of fans, the cover pictured the "wrong" type of Cyberman (from Earthshock) and a Season 18-style Tom Baker, leading to a reissue several months later in a different cover (see below). Unique to this release was a trailer hosted by Tom Baker for other BBC Video products. Cover blurb: From the longest running science fiction series in the world emerged a golden age of classic monsters — memorable grotesques such as the Daleks, Ice Warriors, Mandrels, Nimons... and Cybermen! It all began in another time, in another world, the far-off planet of Gallifrey, home of the Time Lords. Among that super race was Dr. Who, who stole a Tardis and, with his grand-daughter, fled his home planet. Since that time circumstances have forced the Doctor to regenerate into several different bodies. Now in his 4th regeneration, Dr. Who (Tom Baker) launches into one of the greatest trans-dimensional experiences the series has ever known — the Revenge of the Cybermen! As the time ring takes the intrepid travellers back to Nerva, the Ark in Space, they find the Tardis has drifted back a few thousand years in time. Only four people are left alive on the space ship, survivors of a mysterious and deadly plague, carried by the rat-like mechanical Cybermats. What else will the Cybermen destroy in their poisonous bid to take over the galaxy?

Re-release of the earlier video in a smaller plastic box and different cover featuring a "correct" Cyberman. The same cover design was also used for a laserdisc release around the same time. Also note — two versions exist of this video: the first (catalogue no. BBCV 2003) in 1984, while the second (BBCV 4013) followed in October 1986 after video certification was made mandatory in the UK. The contents, cover blurb and cover design are identical — the only difference being that the latter version features the "U" video certificate, as shown in picture. The Doctor discovers that the Cybermen have taken over the station in order to use it to destroy the planet Voga where there are extensive gold mines. They wish to destroy all the gold in the solar system as it is a deadly metal to them. Will the Doctor manage to defeat the Cybermen and find an antidote to cure Sarah?
