Leaves me Cold for sure

This one just falls flat on its face and you start looking out of the window, thinking what else should I being doing now.

It starts well enough, things going bump in the night and a couple of mad people but just leaves me cold.

Ghost story with a twist...

BASIC PLOT: Nyssa and the Doctor investigate the actions of a supposed poltergeist at a school in the Swiss Alps.
Peter Davison, Sarah Sutton and the supporting cast all give great performances, and the story is a strong one. Very good.

Not Worth Your Time

This one is truly dreadful. We get one of the most poorly explained bunch of evil aliens, the Spillagers, just for starters. Furthermore, we are never told what prompted the Doctor to look for them. The worst part is a ghost who is really a ghost, but not just any kind of ghost. This milksop twit, a kind of Bertie Wooster the friendly ghost, is contrary to all normal descriptions of ghosts were such things to exist. He is chatty, self-willed, just an ordinary guy without a body. What sort of ghost is that? Besides that, the tendency in Doctor Who is to naturalize supernatural phenomena, even if the naturalization is just pseudo-scientific nonsense. Little in this story is thought out and much should have been thrown out.

Nyssa!!!

Nyssa gets to dominate the script for once, with the Doctor hardly even in the first episode. Sarah Sutton always was good as Nyssa and here she reallyn shines in a story that is nearly all hers. She even helps to stop the Spillagers from coming through into our space in the end. This is a real comapanion piece and thanks to big finish for that! Nyssa gets a lot to do throughout and that is great. Its great to hear Sarah cutting her teeth as Nyssa for a change. She used to just be left as a spare part in the TARDIS in most of her tv appearances. This is a real pleasurable break from the norm for her. She is really a cool companion and we can all see that here in this wonderfully spooky tale. This story works on all fronts though. Decent aliens and decent plot, decent India Fisher before she came to be the great Charlotte Pollard too. But this story won me over the most for Sarah Sutton, as if you couldnt guess from my review!!

Dodgy Ending...

I thought this story started out Ok I was enjoying listening to it Nyssa is quite good on these audio adventures but I didnt like the ending I think they could have left aliens out of this because they didnt really play much of a part until the end and then I thought that was rushed and badly finished, but I enjoyed the rest of the story.

Great setup, horrible end

This story had such an interesting beginning that it really is a huge shame that they ruined it at the end. I really think that it needed another story to resolve the build up so that they didn't have to resort to the most ludicrous ending to a story I have ever seen. Personally I didn't think this story actually needed the aliens and it could've been so much better if they hadn't tried to crowbar in a totally forgettable alien species which, when one looks at the story as a whole, were useless.
