| Bio: | English actor, born in Salford, near Manchester. Established his reputation with a string of notable roles in the TV series Cracker and Our Friends in the North, plus the movies Shallow Grave, Elizabeth, Jude and 28 Days Later. Was cast as the ninth incarnation of the Doctor when the revived series of Doctor Who came on the air in 2005 to wide acclaim. To the dismay of fans and viewers, he decided to play the Doctor for just one series before moving on. Since then, has made several guest appearances in the popular US TV series Heroes and big screen appearances in movies such as G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. | Links: |
