| Bio: | Born Anna Katarina Willys in Berkshire, Anneke started her acting career at a young age with her first screen role at the tender age of 11. After studying at RADA, she broke into TV in her early 20's with guest appearances on The Saint and The Avengers. Around this time she married Michael Gough, well-known to Who fans for his memorable guest roles in The Celestial Toymaker and Arc of Infinity. Then in 1966, Anneke's own direct connection to Doctor Who was forged when she was cast as Polly, travelling companion to both the First and Second Doctors. After a year in Doctor Who, she left for other projects, including a starring role in fondly-remembered ITC detective series Strange Report, before retiring from acting in 1970 to focus on her family. | Links: |
